Lake Louise homes Ortonville MI

I counted and I think  there are about sixty nice lake houses on Lake Louise.  And yes you can still find a vacant lakefront lot to build on the lake.  I do not know if they are buildable or not.  If you are considering Lake Louise you will learn that many of the lots are narrow with not a lot of lake frontage.  Some long and narrow, but some of the homes will be close together.  However when I was doing my research I found several homes on large lots.  The were 1.13, 1.97, 2.0, 2.5, and 6.46 acres in size.

You will find different styles, ages and sizes of lakefront homes on the lake.   The home are on well and septic systems. I gathered a lot of lakefront home information from the MLS going back fifteen years. 

Here is what some of the waterfront homes are like.  They have one to five bedrooms, one to three and a half bathrooms.  They range in size from 832 square feet to about 3200 square foot in size.  They were mainly built between the years 1950's to 2000's.  Some Lake Louise homes have basements, some crawl & slab homes.  Home styles include bungalows, ranches, colonials, contemporary, and split level homes so you have choices if you only want to buy on Lake Louise.  Depending on the house whether it has no garage, or a one, two, three or four car garages.

I would say most of the houses are just normal homes.  No extravagant 6000 square foot homes on the lake.  You will find quite a few smaller ranches between 832 square feet to 1500 square feet.  There are only single family residents on the lake.  There no condominiums on the lake.  

Lake Louise Ortonville MI Info

Lake Louise is a private all sports lake that is 103 acres in size that is 36 feet deep in the deepest spot.  There is no DNR Launch, nor is there a beach for the public. 

Bullfrogs bar & Grill has great lake views.  It is kind of marshy right there and Bullfrogs sits back a long ways from the lake.  They do not have docks on the lake so boaters can stop in.  Lake Louise in Oakland County is a private all sports lake. There is no DNR access on the lake.  

There are two islands on the lake.  There are three islands if you consider the one big one that some the homes sit on.  Lake Louise connects to all sports private 43 acre Huff Lake.

Lake Louise has no DNR or State regulations on wake restrictions though I would say it is no wake in the canal going from Huff Lake to Lake Louise.  There is no marina, or state approved water ski course on the lake.  The lake has multiple sources of water.  The lake is fed by Kearsley Creek, and two small streams.  The are also some springs in the lake.

The streets around the lake are mainly gravel but there are a few homes on a paved road.  The school district for the lake is Brandon School district. There are three canals on the lake and one that connect to Huff Lake (boatable).

Some of the other nearby lakes are Seymour Lake in Ortonville MI, Waumegah Lake in Clarkston Michigan, Whipple Lake in Clarkston MI, and Cranberry Lake in Independence Twp MI

Lake Louise Location

East of M-15, South of Glass Road, North of Seymour Lake Road.  Lake Louise lies entirely in Brandon Township in Oakland County.  It is about 2.2 miles from Ortonville.  Some people will say Lake Louise Ortonville.  Lake Louise sits across M-15 from all sports Bald Eagle Lake.  Great Lakes Crossing is about 15 minutes away so you have all the shopping you want even though you live in a rural area when you live on Lake Louise.

I have listed four other lakes above that you may want to check out.  Wah-Me-Gau Lake is another all sports lake that you may like.   Lake Louise is a nice place to live year round on or if you only want to come to on the weekends to a cottage there are homes her for you...  It does connect to Huff Lake and they are both private.  It is lake that you are not going to have a lot of boating traffic.  Lake Louise is not too busy on the weekends or holidays. 

Lake Louise is about 15 minutes north of Clarkston and a few miles south of Ortonville.  So it is rural.  It is not a place that you are going to have food delivered or that there is a party store, pharmacy, or gas station on every  corner.  There are all these things close by but not a variety or large amount of them around.  If you are looking for more a quiet place to live on a lake this might be it.  Would I say this lake is for an person that wants a big lake for water skiing, or wake boarding?  No I would say no it is a lake that is more for occasional water sports.  It's big enough to have fun on and enjoy everything a lake has to offer.  So get out the jet skis, the kayaks, and the paddle boards and let's have some fun on the lake.
