Dow Lake is a small lake off of the larger Cass Lake, in Orchard Lake Village, Michigan.  Living waterfront on Dow Lake has its definite perks, because it is a small, quiet lake, at approximately 16-18 acres and a maximum depth of 60 feet.  Boaters and jet skiers are not going to be racy around Dow Lake is because it is too small.  However, waterfront homeowners on Dow Lake have access to the larger, all-sports Cass Lake, which provides plenty of activity as Oakland County, Michigan’s largest lake.  It is public due to the DNR access from Cass Lake, but it still remains calm and private.

Waterfront homes on Dow Lake are changing.  Many waterfront properties are good sized, so the older homes are being torn down.   Most of Dow Lake properties I know of are 2 acres in size.  New larger luxury waterfront estate homes are being rebuilt.  One just was just rebuilt.  With Dow Lake in Orchard Lake Village you get the peace and quiet of a small lake with the access to Oakland County's largest lake.   Dow Lake is a no wake lake.  Cass Lake is about 1280 acres in size with plenty of room for any water sports enthusiasts.

So if you buy a Dow Lake home you will get the best of both worlds.
