Greens Lake in Independence Township, Michigan is a great place for anyone who is enthusiastic about living waterfront in Michigan.  This lake is rather good sized at 117 acres and features many lakefront and canal-front homes.  It is private and allows all sports water craft.  On the other hand, waterfront homeowners can enjoy the fact that half the lake is very natural and undeveloped.  Greens Lake in Independence Township, Michigan is a great place for waterfront homeowners who appreciate both nature and boating.

There is a large township park (Bay Court Park) on the south side of the lake but there is no public boat launch.  Half the lake is undeveloped.  Parview Dr runs along the east side of the lake.  It is a paved road and I would say that you have more of a subdivision feel to the lake along that road.  There is a canal that is on the west side of the lake and there are a few canal front homes on Greens Lake in Clarkston Michigan

UPPER SILVER LAKE

SOFTWATER LAKE Like so many lakes in Oakland County one side of the lake is older and the other side is newer.  When lake lots became a premium developers came in and built usually a street or two on the lakes.  The children that live on Softwater Lake in Clarkston go to Clarkston Schools.

WALTERS LAKE At 76 feet, it is an all-sports lake, but it is completely private to its waterfront residents.  Walters Lake is a great place to call home, while living lakefront in Independence Township, Michigan.
