These websites came about because it was so hard 10 years ago to find info on the local lakes in Southeast Michigan.  I had a client that was an engineer that wanted a lake home.  He wanted indepth information on the lake homes and lakes we were looking at.  He wanted to know size of the lakes, depths of the lakes, if it connected to other lakes, and source of water.  When I went to look for that information….it was next to impossible to find.  I had to search books, DNR reports, and sometimes up 20 pages of google search results for different search terms on the lake.  I would put in “size of the lake”, the “lake depth”, and “maps”.  Many times I could not find the information.  So I went further to gather the information.

I just did not go out and decide to be a real estate agent that specializes in Oakland County lakes and lake homes in the beginning.  I came about to be a realtor that specializes in Metro Detroit Lakes.  In 2010 I lost my beautiful wife to breast cancer.  It tore me apart to lose Marianne.  I was lost and could not handle the loss.   I wandered around aimlessly until I decided that I would start to learn about the lakes and put together an information website on our local lakes.  I started to go around to the lakes taking pictures and talking to the lake residents.  I did this for two to three months.  It was my way of dealing with a loss.  Out of a bad situation came good.  Marianne would have liked this.
