Homes on Pine Lake Fenton Township MI

There are many different sizes, styles, and ages of homes on Pine Lake in Fenton Township (also lies in Fenton).  The homes were built between 1930 to 2006.  There are still a few little lake cottages on the lake.  Some of them have been turned into year round homes.  There are also some big lakefront homes on the lake too. 

They range in size from 600 square feet to 4500 square feet.  There are about 138 parcels on the lake.  Most of them have homes on them.  Here are some of the basic characteristics of the waterfront homes on Pine Lake.  The homes have two to five bedrooms, one to four and a half bathrooms.  The lot sizes vary.  Some are close together while a few homes sit on lots over an acre.  Most of the lake homes have basements but some are on slab and crawl spaces.  Some homes have no garages and there are one at least has up to a 4 car garage. 

The lake homes are mostly on well but some are on muncipal water.  It is the same way with the sewage systems for the waterfront homes some are on sewer and some are on septic systems.

Pine Lake is a private non all sports lake.  You cannot tow anybody behind your boat nor can you speed around the lake.  It is about 132 acres in size with the max depth of 29 feet in the south east basin.  The northwest basin has another deep hole of 19 feet deep.   The average depth on the lake is about 8 feet deep.  They tried to change Pine Lake from a non all sports lake to an all sports lake back in 2007, but there was not enough support from the lake residents to change the laws and regulation.  It still is a non all sports lake.  The law actually states  "that you cannot operate such motorboat at high speed, which means a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition".  Nor can you tow anybody tubing or waterskiing.  However it does not say anything about a jet ski.  So it is not limiting boating (just at high speeds).....it's not a total non all sports lake. 

There is no marina on the lake, no water ski course, and no condominiums on the lake.  There is no city park or public beach on the lake.  There are no canals on the lake but there is one peninsula that sticks out into the lake that divides the lake into a north and south basin.

It is a relatively shallow lake that is strewn with boulders.  There is one spot on the lake that they mark the boulders with a bouy because they are so close to the surface.  It is a spring fed kettle lake that was formed by glaciers thousands of years ago.  I said it was relatively shallow in some area however Pink Lake has a 29 foot hole in the SE Basin and a 19 foot deep hole in the NW basin.

There is no public launch however one home owner allows boats to launched for a fee of $20. The roads around the lake are paved.  The children on the lake go to Linden Schools or Fenton Schools.

There are wake restrictions on the lake.  Here is the state regulation as it is written. 

PINE LAKE - R281.725.3 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited.

3. On the waters of Pine lake, sections 28, 29, 32, and 33, town 5 north, range 6 east, township of Fenton, county of Genesee, state of Michigan, no operator of any motorboat shall:

(a) Operate such motorboat at high speed, which means a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

Pine Lake lies in both Fenton and Fenton Township in Oakland County.  The lake lies north of Owen Road, South of Silver Lake Rd, East of Whitaker Road, West of Silver Lake and US-23.
