Lower Pettibone Lake Homes Highland MI
You are going to find some of the small older cottages on Lower Pettibone Lake. On the west side of the lake some of the lake homes are very close together. Other homes on the lake have a little more space. There are no mega mansions on the lake. Most of the homes are under 2000 square feet. Some of the lake homes were built as early as the 1920's up to the 1980's. Some homes have no garages and none of the homes on the lake have more than a 2 car garage.
Some of the lakefront homes sit up on a hillside, but others are at lake level. The lake level homes have no basements because of the water level. The ones on the hillside have basements usually. There are still many smaller older ranch style cottages on the lake. Some of them are used as year round homes. These ranch homes range from 800 square feet to over 1400 square feet.
There are bigger homes but I do not believe that any of them are much larger than 2500 square foot. So this is not a high end exclusive lake where you are going to find big luxury lake estates. This is going to be a quieter lake with limited boat traffic too. There are just not that many homes and boaters on the lake. What is really nice about the lake is that it is a very short drive to Milford. You can enjoy all the restaurants and conveniences of downtown Milford with less than a 5 minute ride.
Some of Lower Pettibone lakefront homes sit up on a hillside and other parts of the lake the homes are level with the lake. There are about 65 lakefront homes on the lake. The homes are on well and septic though sewers are coming in soon. The waterfront homes are on community well and some are on individual wells. There are no homes on lots over an acre on the lake. You will not find any condominiums on the lake.

Lower Pettibone Lake Highland MI Info
On one side of the lake is state owned land (Highland Recreation area). Through the state park is a public DNR launch that allows 15 people to park. I would describe the lake as a long narrow lake. There is also a railroad track nearby so you may hear a train now and then.

Lower Pettibone Lake Location
Lower Pettibone Lake lies east of Milford Road, south of M-59, and north of the village of Milford. It lies entirely in Highland Township in Oakland County Michigan. The lake is fed upstream by Bass Lake and Pickerel Lake. Lower Pettibone Lake water then flows down to Moore Lake and then feeds Milford's mill pond.
