Long Lake is one of the few lakes in Livingston County and Oakland County that has more than a couple of homes that sit on lots that are over 2 acres. There are about 18 lakefront homes on Long Lake in Livingston County that are over 2 acres in size. The homes on the east side of the lake have 7, 8.75, 9, 13,38, 14.72, 18 acres lots.
The lake homes have two to six bedrooms, one to six and a half bathrooms. Many of the Long Lake waterfront properties on the one side of the lake are newer brick home, on good sized lots (from 100 -300' of lake frontage). That is the subdivision side of the lake. So you have a wide range and variety of lakefront homes on this lake. There are 2000 square foot tudors, 3000 square foot colonials, and 4000 square foot contemporary homes.
It is nice all sports lake that has many varieties of water front properties. There are mainly 1000-4000 square foot lake homes around the lake. There is one Long Lake luxury estate home on the lake. It is 12,800 square foot with 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms on 18 acres. It has a pole barn in addition to the 3+ car attached garage.
On the other end of the spectrum of Long Lake homes are 1200 square foot ranch homes that were built in the 1930's and 1940's. They have 3 bedrooms, maybe 1 or more baths, and some may not even have garages! The lake houses were built between 1928 -2004. The majority of homes are between 832 square feet to 4000 square feet. Some homes have no garages up to 4 car garages.
But one of the main attractions of this lake is not only the size of the lake or the neat aspect of the homes, but it is that the lakefront properties and lot sizes are big. There is are some lake access homes near Long Lake. All the homes are on wells. The lakefront homes are a mix of being on sewers or septic systems. Some homes have basements, and some are on crawl spaces. The home styles are a mix of ranch homes, colonials, tudors, and contemporary homes.

It's not unusual for Long Lake properties to have 100' or more of lake frontage. There is space on the lake. In fact there is one property that has 5 acres, another has 8 acres, and of course the luxury estate home. Long Lake Hartland MI information
Long Lake is a private all sports lake that is 146 acres in size the deepest part of the lake is 75 feet deep. There is no public access or DNR boat launch site on the lake. There are no wake restrictions that I know of. The kids that live on the lake go to Hartland Schools.
There is no marina, no islands, no restaurant, no public beach, and no state approved water ski course. Like the name say the lake is more a long lake. It is not that narrow. The water source for the lake is springs in the lake, a stream that connects Long Lake to Maxfield Lake, and a small stream on the east side of the lake.
