Lantern Lake homes Auburn Hills MI

What type of homes are on Lantern Lake in Oakland County?  There are a few empty lots but I do not know if they are big enough to build a home on.  That is something you would have to check out with the city.  Currently there are only 10 lakefront homes on the lake.  The majority of the homes are ranches, though there is a bungalow, and few colonial homes. 

The homes on Latern Lakes have two to four bedrooms, one to three bedrooms, one to two car garages.  They are 900 square feet to 2600 square in size.  The majority of them are under 1700 square feet.  They were built during the 1940's to 1994. The home styles are ranches, colonials, and bungalow style homes. 

All the homes on the lake are on city water & sewer.  There are no condominiums on the lake.  Most of the lots are smaller in size but there is a couple over an acre in size.

Latern Lake information Auburn Hills Michigan

Latern Lake is approxiamately four to six acres in size. It is a private, non all sports lake in Auburn Hills that is just really a tiny pond that is very close to Great Lakes Crossing.  If you are driving up Baldwin Road to Great Lakes Crossing you will see the lake on the right side of the road.  You can walk to the stores in Great Lakes Crossing.  There are also restaurants just a short drive away.  It is a private lake with no DNR launch or public beach.  It is spring fed lake. 

The lake is so small I would call it a pond.  You cannot do anything on the pond other than fish, or paddle around.  It's such a small lake that there would never be a marina, ski course, or a power boat on the lake.  The roads around the lake are paved.  There is no canal on the lake.   The children on the lake go to private schools or to Pontiac Schools.

Latern Lake lies entirely in Auburn Hills in Oakland County.  You can see Latern Lake off Baldwin Rd.  It lies on the east side of the lake just south of Great Lakes Crossing.  The lake is south of I-75 and north of Walton Road. 

Latern Lake is just a tiny pond that is so small that there is no need for a power boat.  I do not know if Latern Lake is swimmable or how deep it is.  All the times I have driven by I have never seen anybody on the lake.  A pond is a fascinating habitat to study, a good one teeming with a great variety of both animal and plant life.  Most home owners are not going to really study the lake.  They are most likely living on the lake because of the water effect. The calming effect, or the peaceful feeling people get from water.   The home owners probably loved the house they bought.  The lake is probably just an after thought or an extra.  They did not buy the house because it was on a lake/pond.

Latern Lake may be home to many different living things, but they are also an important place for many more to visit. Some may come to ponds to drink, cool down, or even hide from predators.  This is what the home owners enjoy the most.  The animals, and birds that come to visit the lake.  There will be a wide variety of geese, ducks, and birds that come to the lake.

Russ was my third realtor, trying to sell a house I owned in Michigan. I live in Pennsylvania. The house was part of an estate. I owned it for three years. The first two realtors were terrible, compared to Russ. The first couple years I owned it was a real headache for me.
