Lake Shannon Homes Fenton MI

Lake Shannon homes for sale Fenton MILake Shannon lake homes are going to be nicer homes because the lake was built in the 1960's by the Coles.  There are no small dumpy cottages from the 1920's or 1930's.  Many of homes on Lake Shannon are over 2000 square feet.  There are some lakefront properties that are only 1000 to 1400 square feet, but I would say most of the lake front homes are 2000 square feet plus.  They range in size up to 5300 square feet.

Most of the homes on the lake have basements.  The homes have one car to six car garages.  There is one home on the lake that has no garage.  Some of Lake Shannon's real estate is almost like being up north on a lake.  Some of the homes are on heavily wooded lots.  I have been in one house that was like you were up north the home was so secluded with trees.  It was beautiful over looking the lake because the home sat up on a hill.  There are some lakefront homes that do sit higher above the lake and there are stairs needed to go down to the water's edge.

The homes were built mainly after the 1960's to 2006.   The waterfront homes have two to six bedrooms and one and a half to five and a half bathrooms. Lake Shannon Fenton MI information

Lake Shannon is a private 262 acre all sports lake fed by Ore Creek with a dams at either end.  Back in the 1960's a lake builder by the name of Jim Cole built the lake by damning the creek.  In the beginning the waterfront lots were $15,000 to $25,000 when the lake was built.  There is no public DNR boat launch on the lake. Lake Shannon is a long narrow lake.  On the south end of the lake, the creek widens but not enough for skiing. Lake Shannon is wider on the north end of the lake and gets narrower as you head south on the lake.

The deepest spot on the lake is 75 feet deep.  Since the lake is in two townships, children who live in Deerfield Township attend Hartland schools, while those who live in Tyrone Township attend Linden schools.  There is no public beach, no lakefront restaurant, no marina, and no state approved water ski course.  There are no lake restrictions that I know of.  There is no access from Lake Shannon to any other lake by boat.  The dams are in the way.

Lake Shannon Livingston County MI

The streets around the lake are gravel and paved. If you live in Deerfield Township your child would go to Hartland schools and if you live on the lake in Tyrone Township your child would go to Linden schools.  There are some short canals on the lake.

One of the first things you should do when buying a waterfront home on lake Lake Shannon in Tyrone Twp is get a survey.  Waterfront properties are unique.  Some homes that you thought were waterfront may not be.  Some may have easements in front of them.  You may not even own to the lake.  It is a big surprise to find that out for some home owners.  You won’t be able to build on that property.  So get a survey!

We all have dreams and goals that we hope will make our life better.  Is living on a lake one of them.  I call it living the dream.  Do you want to retire somewhere warm?  Do you want to retire on some island?   My clients that have just bought or bought a lake home in the last two years say to me "why didn't I do this years ago.”.  I myself can't believe I am living the dream.

The ability to go swimming when I want.  The ability to untie the boat and go for a little cruise around the lake. All those dreams have become reality.  They can become reality for you too.  Do you want to be able to come home at the end of the day and relax on your deck or patio and look out at the lake?

Many grandparents or parents that have kids that do not visit to often want to have a fun place for their kids or grandkids to come back to.  Living the dream may be having your friends or family over the weekend.  It could be relaxing in the sun.  There are so many fun things to do on the lake.  Your lake home is your vacation.  Many people on the lake think why go on vacation when we live on the lake?  Why drive 3 1/2 hours to go up north when you have paradise in your back yard. Lake Shannon Tyrone Township MI

I know some lake people that miss weddings, graduation parties because it is a beautiful day on the lake.  They are living the dream.  The kids jumping off the dock.  Your child catching that big fish or your grandchild catching their first fish.  Family playing volley ball, corn hole, or ladder ball.  Laughing and having fun at the lake.  That is what lake living is all about.

"Dear Russ,
It´s been 2 months since we moved into our new Canton condo and we
are very happy with it. In the beginning we didn´t even
know what we needed but with your help, guidance and
patience we chose the best condo in the area with the best
price according to our needs. We were looking all over.  We looked in Novi, Warrren, Canton, Farmington Hills.  But we finally found our Canton condo.  We appreciate everything you
have done for us. We would recommend you without hesitation
to everyone we know who wants to buy or sell a house. "
