So what is Glass Lake like in Oxford Township? It is like so many of Oxford area lakes formed by past mining operations. Glass Lake is one of those small lakes that is good for swimming, and enjoying the peacefulness of water. It is a sandy bottomed lake because at one time it was formed by gravel mining in Oxford's heyday of being Michigan's mining capital. The lake is located a short distance Northwest from downtown Oxford. Just west of M-24 and about a 15 minute ride to I-75. So living on Glass Lake you have all the conveniences of living in the city but with the calming views of a lake.

There are no old lake cottages on the lake. It is a newer built subdivision with homes that have open layouts, higher ceilings, and big master suites with walk in closets.

The waterfront homes for sale have three to six bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, two to three car garages.
The homes have brick & vinyl exteriors. They all have basements. Some of the basements are walkouts, some daylight basements and a few regular basements. It is a true subdivision around the lake with parks. You will see people walking around the subdivision on any nice day as there are sidewalks in the subdivision.

Glass Lake is an electric motor only lake but it is so small you really are not going to see any boats on the lake. Maybe a kayak, or row boat, or a paddleboard, but not much more than that.

Glass Lake is a small lake. I estimate it at ten to 15 acres in size.
It is not an all sports lake. Electric motors are only allowed. It is a no wake lake. I do not know how deep the lake is. There is no public access though there is a subdivision park on the lake but the lake is not open to people that do not live in the subdivision.
There is no public beach, no marina, no DNR launch, no ski course because it is just a small lake. It is a spring fed lake like so many of the Oxford area lakes formed by the mining in the early 1900's.
The lake lies in Oxford Township and the children on the lake go to Oxford Schools. The roads around the lake are paved. There are no canals on the lake nor does the lake connect to any other lake.
Other nearby lakes are Indianwood Lake, Lake Orion, Waterstone Lake
