Dollar Lake homes Genessee County Michigan

Here are the basic characteristics of the waterfront homes on Dollar Lake in Fenton.  Most of the homes have basements.  The homes have two to four bedrooms, and one to two and a half bathrooms.   The lake homes range from 940 square feet to 2400 square feet.  They are mainly regular size homes.  There are no big luxury lakefront estates on Dollar lake.

The lake homes were built between 1924 to 2000.  The homes are on sewers and wells.  Most of the waterfront homes have basements.  Some homes do not have garages, but some have up to a 6 car garage.  Most homes have 2 & 3 car garages.

There are 35 lakefront homes on Eden Gardens Road, Dollar Lake Road, and Triple Oaks.  However there are 7 more homes that have lake frontage but they sit across Lake Fenton Road.  These 7 homes sit on long lots.  All the homes sit on acreage.  Some are 2.25 acres, 3.25 acres, and 7.65 acres.  There are no condos on the lake.

Dollar Lake Genessee County Michigan Information

Dollar Lake is about 46 acres in size.  It is a small natural kettle lake.  It is a private non all sports lake that is 27 feet deep in the deepest spot.  The average depth is about 12 feet deep.  There is no public access on the lake.  The streets around the lake are paved.

There is no public beach, no restaurant on the lake, and no marina on the lake.  The children on the lake go to Lake Fenton Schools. There is a canal on the lake.  There is no state approved water ski course on the lake.  The water source of Dollar Lake is fed by Long Lake and a stream. 

DOLLAR LAKE - Slow-no wake speed.  On the waters of Dollar (Hibbard) lake and the connected canals and channels, sections 11 and 12, T5N, R6E, Fenton township, Genesee county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

Location of Dollar Lake 

Dollar Lake lies in Fenton Township in Genessee County Michigan.  It is east of Fenton Road and South of Long Lake Road.  It is just across the street from Lake Fenton.

The Fenton area is full of lakes.  There are probably close to 50 lakes in the Fenton area.  They come in all sizes and shapes.  Some are private and some are public lakes lie Lake Fenton and Lobdell Lake.  Some are all sports and some are electric motor only or no wake lakes.  So you have a wide choice of lakes in the Fenton area.  The key is what do you want to do on a lake?   

Are you an active water sports person?  Then you want a bigger all sports lake.  If you want a speed boat or jet ski then an all sports lake is going to be for you too.  The size is dependant on you and if you would get bored on a small lake.  If you get bored on a small all sports lake then you most likely want a lake that is over 200 acres in size.

If you just love the view of water then a non all sports lake or all sports lake would do.  If you do not want to jet skis or noisy speed boats racing around your lake then you definitely want a non all sports lake. If all you want to do is kayak or paddleboard then either type of lake would be good.  A fisherman will like both types of lake too.  A small lake with no boating pressure sometimes has great fishing.  However a small lake may not have enough spots for you to fish so a bigger lake may be what you want.  Pontoon people can be either all sports lake people or non all sports lake people.  If it is a electric motor only they have and sell electric motor pontoons of all sizes.  They do not make a wake so they can be on a no wake lake like Dollar Lake because they do not go fast.

If your real estate agent does not ask you what you really want in a lake then you may not have the right lake real estate agent.  After all asking about the type of lake you want and what you want to do on the lake is no different than asking what you want in a house.  Your realtor should be asking those questions.  If they are not you need to consider changing to a lake realtor that knows the lakes.  It will make your lake home search so much easier.
