Bass Lake Commerce Township MIHere are some of the features of Bass Lake waterfront homes.  The homes have two to five bedrooms, one to four and a half bathrooms and some have no basements, crawls, slabs, walk out basements, regular basements, finished and unfinished.  The home styles include ranch, contemporary, colonial and cape cod style homes.  Bass Lake homes were built between the years 1935 to 2015.

Most of the homes sit on lake lots that are less than a half an acres.  Though there are a few of the homes that sit on lots of 1, 2.5, 2,85 acres.  Some of the older homes on the lake have no garages and then they range from one, two, to three and a half car garages.  The newer homes that were built after the 1980's have the bigger garages.  Homes on Bass Lake range in size from 528 square feet to 3900 square feet

Current there are aproxiamately about sixty four homes on the lake.  There are only a few empty lake lots on the lake and I do not know if they are buildable.  You would have to get the parcel number and then talk to the building department in Commerce Township. The homes on the lake are on well.  Most of them have septic systems however there are some homes that are on sewers. There is a wide variety of lakefront homes on Bass Lake.  There are still some small 500 - 1000 square foot old lake cottages that have been converted into year round homes.  There are big brick colonial, cape cod, and contemporary homes that were built from the 1990's to the present day.  The newer homes are clustered together so you are not going to see many small old cottages next to the much, much larger brick colonials that have attached garages and basements.

 Quiet with mature trees the lake ist close to everything, it is a lake with something for everyone.  The lake has a very private, yet up north feeling. It is, however, just minutes from everything.

Unwritten wake restrictions from the state of Michigan because you only can have an electric motor or paddle power.  The lake is located within the Charter Township of Commerce.  There is public acess only because a few subdivisions around the lake have neighborhood associations have beach lots on the lake.  There is no public DNR boat launch on the lake.

The lake is spring fed and fed by a stream to the north.  The bottom of the lake is like so many other Oakland County Lakes.  It is sandy & mucky depending on where you live making it a great lake for families and swimming. It is considered an "electric motor only" lake with more than enough water for paddling around and fishing. In fact, Bass Lake is a favorite fishing lake with the residents. Plentiful populations of blue gill, bass, and crappie make their home in the lake.

Of course there is no state approved ski course on the lake because there are no motor boats on the lake, there is no marina, and non condominiums on the lake.  There are three short canals on the lake that have homes on them.  There are just single family residences on Bass Lake.  The streets around the lake are mainly paved however there is a gravel road too.  The children on the lake go to Walled Lake Schools.

On the waters of Bass Lake, Commerce township, Oakland county, it is unlawful to operate a vessel powered by a motor except an electric motor. 

There are several neighborhood association lake access, beach sites on the lake.
